Surely time to get rid?! He’s plainly a liablity

  2. Alan-a-dale Says:

Innocent until proven guilty but clearly his future as an Executive Board member, if not as a councillor, must now be in doubt.

  3. Adam Says:

It seems that some people are out to get him…i wonder who and why?

  4. nottinghamtigers Says:

Probably because he’s black – and there seems to be a run on doing down other Councillors too for the same reason – same old, same old racist crap.

  5. Alan-a-dale Says:

Could be something to do with the fact that he’s misled the City Council in not declaring interests and has been arrested by the police as well though couldn’t it… or have we all just imagined these things?

Sorry mate but just because something’s reported in Nottingham’s Evening Post doesn’t mean that I believe it and I don’t, from my scant research here, believe that any charges have been made. Now, if charges are brought and a case is made against our black friends here and they are convicted then they need to be banged to rights – but let’s see the evidence first and not just convict anyone on ‘hearsay’ – surely we are more mature that that?

They shouldn’t be hanged, drawn and quartered on a Blog for heaven’s sake.

  7. Alan-a-dale Says:

I agree Nottinghamtigers… but, by the same token, just because someone’s black doesn’t mean they can’t have done something wrong or that if they have and it’s pointed out by someone, that this is evidence of racism.

    Hi Alan

In the current climate where we have a rise in BNP activity and a threatened English Defence League protest in Nottingham in December would indicate that we are in a changing world. The demonisation of two Black Councillors in the way that they have been by the Evening Post and by Nottingham Bloggers will only add fuel to that fire. As I said in my previous post it appears that they haven’t been charged, and if they are then they need to be banged to rights – but let’s see the evidence and make a judgement on that – because that’s only fair, isn’t it?

Not sure if you or Nottgirl have talked directly to the people concerned but it might be an idea and then make up your minds and comment.

It doesn’t make it alright…does it?

Just to be clear on this the quote above refers to Nottingham’s Evening Post reporting on this issue in the way they did – without really checking out any facts because if they had done then it wouldn’t have fitted the story they wanted to tell.

It’s about time some of their journalist started reporting responsibly…or maybe just went and got jobs with the Sun and gave us a break…

  11. Fedup Says:

… but equally it’s about time that the City Council behaved in a more open and transparent manner, and upheld the kind of standards that we all expect from those in public service. This isn’t the only incident and if the Evening Post and the blogging community regularly remind the Council about upholding Standards then at least somebody is doing it. They are a poor excuse of a Council

  12. nottinghamtigers Says:

I would agree that it’s ok for the blogging community (which I belong to) and a local Newspaper have the right to report where there are issues of standards but let’s be fair here and not jump to conclusions on the basis of ill-reported evidence. It doesn’t make it alright.

    Nottgirl

Having highlighted this, I think you also ought to now report the fact that no prosecution is going to be brought against Coun. Ahmed.

  14. James Says:

Nottingham City Council – send Rentakil in there.
