Well I don’t really think Nottingham is totally crap. Like a lot of places it has its good and bad. But this blog is a place to rant about the things that really annoy you about Nottingham. If you want to rant about something about Nottingham then please post it in the comments box.
Did you know that Nottingham is home to a major arms company? Check out the web page and get in touch if you want to know any more. From a fellow WordPress blogger.
No I didn’t know Evey. I will get in touch to find out more.

Hi, I’m just setting up my Westminster blog on Notts MPs (I’m a parliamentary correspondent), I’ve linked into your site and wanted to see if I could get in your “Nottingham bloggers” section. While I’m here I think I’m going to have a lttle rant about something as well. All the best,

I have lived in Nottingham most of my life. Born and raised and it has a great way of bringing its self down. Nottingham to me is great because you can do what the hell you want but you have to put up with all kinds of idiots everyday. Its a great place to make a music scene or be politically active where in other places the community would be against it. Its also a place where u can get stabbed with a screwdriver for a pound.
I’ve just been catching up on the latest on the esteemed Cllr. Collins.

“Five hours there and five days back”. What the travelling expenses will be for getting over there and stopping over before starting on the return leg. Will they be able to declare a profit on the pledges?
Also a mention in NEP.

I’m all for raising money for worthy local causes but I’m sure there must be some political mileage in this one…
Can you put a link to my video on your site?
Every single week our bins get emptied and put in the wrong way.. this means it’s really hard to put rubbish in them unless you wheel them all out and turn them around..
People have complained about it before, but it doesn’t seem to have much effect
Disgusting behaviour by the Nottingham City Council parking enforcement team!!
On a Friday or Saturday night i quiet often leave my car on the front road outside my flat, its a standard no parking from 8.15 to 9.30am and 4.30 to 6.30pm Monday to Friday no restrictions on a weekend, anyway this Saturday i do the usual after returning from the supermarket with my girlfriend at around 8pm,
Looking from my flat window around 9ish this morning i notice a makeshift plastic No Parking sign wrapped around the usual metal parking restriction sign, hanging on with bit of string, obviously put there during the night as it wasn’t there at 8pm.
i think to my self nahhh they wouldn’t??, so i nip down to my car and yes they would!!! a parking ticket slapped right on my windscreen.
I will not be paying this Nottingham City Council tax top up fine, i will go to prison before this is paid..

Hi NottGirl, have you heard about what’s happening between the City Council and Stonebridge City Farm in St Anns?
On Friday 8th January 2010, a meeting was held between Nottingham City Council Officers and Stonebridge City Farm. Those who work at the farm and committee members feel under pressure from Nottingham City Council to agree to give up 10% of the farm land in exchange for a renewal of their lease. The meeting was distressing in that the Officers present, the Director of Housing and the Housing Department Project Manager for the Stonebridge Estate Scheme made it plain that to enable a new lease to be agreed the farm would have to agree to give up 10% of the farmed land for parking for neighbouring housing. Not only this, they would have to agree not to challenge any future planning applications which may impact on the farm.
To justify their position, the Council Officers, stated that they have under taken a full consultation and have found that 15 neighbours of the 31 next to the farm agree with the scheme. The farm had 10,000 visitors last year. But they do not seem to count. I visited this farm a lot as a child and I don’t want the children of Nottingham to miss out on this little gem in the city as Nottingham City Council slowly erodes away their farm land.
We’re trying to raise support for Stonebridge City Farm by:
1) Inviting friends to join the facebook group Protect Stonebridge City Farm (www.facebook.com/group.php?v=info&gid=247195272869)
2) Writing to Jon Collins (jon.collins@nottinghamcity.gov.uk), the leader of Nottingham City Council, and Jane Todd (jane.todd@nottinghamcity.gov.uk), the Chief Executive of Nottingham City Council
3) Signing the petition at http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/33312.html
Just another sign of Nottingham City Council’s hypocrisy that I thought I would share.
I moved to Notts about a year ago and have seen loads of fighting dogs. I asked a copper about them and the copper said “You have to talk to the RSPCA if people are dogfighting” I said “so there’s nothing you lot do about them?” “Nope”, she replied. Community Support! Cheers then…
Nottgirl, some interesting reading on your blog.
Is there a way of emailing you to discuss a few of the blogs you have put down in the recent past….mainly to do with a certain cricket club
I’ve been trying to get word out about Nottingham Trent University’s masters program for Art & Design… it’s an absolute disgrace with disgusting practices. They cheat students out of their money, lie to them, and give substandard education. As a foreign student (I’m American) my experience was appalling, and I continue to be frustrated since a number of friends who’re still on the course are still suffering from the uni’s actions (or lack thereof.)
Nottingham isn’t crap but Nottingham City Council is shit. They are worst employer to work for. Their cheif executives like Jane Todd do not give a toss about what happens to employees within the organisation and will not address their concerns. All they care about it their pay checks.
They have the worst case of bullying in the country.
Be warned if you plan to work for them.
Nottinghamshire County council have just spent £2.5m of tax payers money buying a bankrupt caravan park in the town of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. The caravan park went bankrupt last year. Not good news.
Mike.

Crikey, what an interesting blog. Lots of stuff to think about. Slightly embarrassingly, I wonder whether you might be able to put a link to two blogs that I run http://www.bftfblog.blogspot.com and http://www.nottsscience.blogspot.com . They both have some interesting interviews!
Will do. Sorry I haven’t posted on this for ages, although am planning some new posts – so it took me a while to read your comment
