Council’s anti-social behaviour chief beaten up

“THE man spearheading Nottingham’s fight against anti-social behaviour was knocked unconscious during an “unprovoked attack” in a city centre bar.

Richard Antcliff was enjoying a stag do with relatives and friends in Bar Circle, Market Street, on Saturday night.

The 32-year-old was one of three men believed to have been knocked out in the attack, which is thought to have spilled on to the street at around midnight.

Mr Antcliff was treated at the Queen’s Medical Centre along with three other members of his party. Speaking to the Evening Post today, he said: “It was a totally unprovoked attack. It’s horrific really.”

Mr Antcliff, the city council’s chief antisocial behaviour officer, said he could not comment further as police were investigating.”

Actually – he got charged with abh. He’s barred from the council now! Wot a place!

Do you mean Richard Antcliff got charged with ABH and barred from the Council or his attacker? If it was his attacker this action seems fair enough. If it was Richard Antcliff that was charged this would be outrageous behaviour for an anti social behaviour officer.
