Gun found after firearms incident in shopping centre

“A 19-YEAR-OLD has admitted that he was carrying a loaded gun in the Victoria Centre during an incident between two gangs.

Witnesses reported “a crack and a flash”, as if a gun had been fired, after a dispute between two groups in the city shopping centre on September 16.

A loaded gun was later discovered in a bag, but experts found that it had never been fired. Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court this week, Anton Mason, previously of Carrington and now of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to possession of the gun and ammunition without a certificate, but denied possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

It is believed that another man, who has never been identified, may have had the gun that was fired.”
