City Council’s fight back against the recession

You may have seen Nottingham City Council’s “We’re on Your Side” slogan which was first publicly seen in December last year. What you may not have known is that this slogan is part of the the City Council’s campaign to let you know how they are fighting the economic downturn.

“As well as helping individuals, families and businesses cope with the immediate effects of the economic downturn, Nottingham City Council is taking a longer-term view to ensure that the city is well placed to make the most of the eventual recovery.

The council is setting up an economic resilience and regeneration forum to act as an advisory board to the local authority and One Nottingham, the local strategic partnership. This will bring together leaders and experts from a range of sectors who have specialist skills in mounting a fight-back against the recession. They will identify how Nottingham can best position itself to weather the economic storm…

A communications campaign entitled ‘We’re on your side’ is keeping residents informed of the council’s actions and progress.”

Shame that the City Council need a campaign to tell people that they’re on our side. Should be obvious shouldn’t it?
