“NOTTS is the third worst policing area for crime, according to Home Office statistics released today.
From 2009-2009 there were 109 crimes per 1,000 people, compared to an average in England and Wales of 89. Only Met Police (112 crimes per 1,000 people) and Greater Manchester (110) recorded higher crime rates.
Notts Police’s figures were also in the bottom 20 per cent of all forces for violence, robbery, burglary, car crime, theft and criminal damage.”
This rather puts paid to Nottingham City Council’s argument that the only reason Nottingham City’s crime rate is so high is that the city boundary is so tightly drawn.
